sleepy crab

This crab is getting a little tired of yelling all the way over here while people are busy seeing what others are wearing....

In other words, much as I love this blog, and it's title, I'm doing a trial run of combining my two blogs. So far I've kept "I want what she's wearing" strictly fashion-related, and used "a crab yells hey" for everything else. But for now it will all be over at I want what she's wearing. I like the title of this blog better, but the other one has more exposure right now. Sorry to inconvenience you guys! So if you want to know what I've been doing/inspired by/wearing lately, check out the other blog! If it all fails or I just don't like combining the two then the crab will start yelling again.

Happy reading, and please feel free to follow I want what she's wearing!

this too shall pass

This song has two videos - this one is definitely the better one! I don't even want to think about how long this would have taken to conceive and create. I wonder if they only did one take? From the paint on the guys I'm guessing they did more than one... What a nightmare!

Schweppervescence

Possibly the most beautiful ad ever made. I'm so in love with it - and still have not grown tired of it. The song is amazing too: "To Build A Home" by the Cinematic Orchestra featuring Patrick Watson. Enjoy.

everything is possible

Picked up a book at Urban Outfitters on my trip to NYC last year that I am still obsessing over. It's from the Everything Is Possible exhibition that was held at Space 15 Twenty in LA presented by Gallery Space. To illustrate why I'm obsessed, two words: Lusty Polaroids.

Third greatest red-head in the world!... Even if he is American and spells his name s-h-a-u-n. (Of course, Fred and George Weasley are cooler, even if they're fictional characters) (And Taylor Tomasi is not naturally that vibrant colour I'm assuming..)

mardi gras 2010

Last weekend I went to barefoot bowls with my netball team and we decided to dress up for Mardi Gras. Yes, we donned the mo's and played the part of the ladyboy for the day.. or at least until the cheap $2 shop glue irritated our upper lips. There were a few other people dressed up there too... boys in very questionable attire! I also decided to use that day to test blue in the ends of my hair (using $2 shop hairspray!) - you can kind of see it in the bottom photo. Oh, and I got best bowl of the day!

snow lust

Some of you may already be aware of my obsession with cold weather - I'm constantly whining about the Australian Summer heat and dreaming of being in the Arctic cuddling up to a Polar Bear (here and here and here). The recent blizzards in NYC and the Winter Olympics have only added to my torment...

"knowing everything won't do you a bit of good unless you use it to put beauty in this world."

I seem to be reminiscing about movies from my childhood lately. This one got me in particular trouble after I decided to imitate her and her book... Needless to say just like in the movie someone at school found it and I was traumatized for a good week. Then I stopped with the whole spy thing.

grasshopper

Went out to a laneway bar in Circular Quay area last Wednesday, which is temporarily set up as part of Sydney Festival. I wish it was always there! It's made up of old junk thrown together in a way that works so well - including car bodies and old row boats hanging from the walls! They make cocktails in a jar that come with a lid so you don't spill your drink on the d-floor, and played the classic 80s movie Cocktail!

After this bar closes down (closing party 30th Jan!), the guys are opening a new - permanent - bar called Grasshopper. Keep your eyes peeled!
