Sam Haskins

This year the lives of many brilliant, talented artists have come to an end. I'm not sure why 2009 seems to be so cursed. Whatever the reason, I'm disappointed that I have only now discovered the work of Sam Haskins - shortly after his death. An Australian photographer from a beautiful little town (that I personally love) called Borwal, just outside of Sydney, who had successfully made his mark in NYC recently with his exhibition "Fashion Etcetera". It's sad to know that this will be the last installment we will see from him.

I'm going to my work Christmas party tonight, which is themed "100 years of fashion". I chose to go as a 20s flapper girl, since I already had the fringe dress (Kate Moss x Topshop) and cloche hat. But after seeing this I wish I'd decided to go bad ass 70s rocker! Abbey is channeling Joplin something fierce in this photo.
